the bright ideas approach

EI-SO Framework™

Balancing Vision and Action

bright ideas deploys its unique  EI-SO Framework™ to build a robust understanding of your business.

EI-SO is a two-axis framework (Strategic vs. Operational and Internal vs. External) that offers a clear, structured lens to evaluate and prioritize marketing efforts. By mapping activities across these axes, businesses can align daily execution with long-term goals and make smarter decisions about resource allocation.

  • Internal–Strategic: Building Core Capabilities
This quadrant focuses on strengthening the marketing foundation. Key activities include upskilling teams, refining brand guidelines, and investing in tools and infrastructure. It ensures the function is equipped for future challenges and campaigns. It’s about ensuring the marketing engine is robust and ready for future campaigns.

  • External–Strategic: Shaping Market Position
Here, the emphasis is on future growth and brand direction. It covers market research, competitive analysis, audience segmentation, and strategic partnerships. These initiatives help define the brand’s role in the market and chart its long-term trajectory.

  • Internal–Operational: Driving Efficiency
This quadrant is about optimizing execution. It includes campaign workflows, content production, social media scheduling, and performance analytics. The goal is to ensure smooth, efficient operations that support strategic ambitions.

  • External–Operational: Engaging the Market
Focused on customer-facing activities, this includes advertising, PR, promotions, and direct engagement. These are the visible, immediate actions that generate sales and brand awareness.

By assessing marketing efforts across these quadrants, businesses can spot imbalances—such as over-indexing on execution without strategic clarity or planning without follow-through. This model encourages a holistic, integrated approach where short-term tactics are purposeful steps toward long-term success—balancing vision with action for both impact and sustainability.

The bright ideas trademark EI-SO Framework provides a simple yet effect perspective for businesses.

The "Marketing Health Check" Concept

Outside In

Many businesses find themselves caught in a cycle of marketing activity without a clear view of the results. Our EI-SO framework is designed to solve this. First, we assess the Effectiveness and Impact of what you're doing right now. Then, we identify the Strategy and Opportunity to unlock future growth. It's about understanding today to win tomorrow.

Our process is a structured three-day deep dive. Day one is about the 'Why' – your core strategy. Day two focuses on the 'How' – your execution. And Day three brings it all together to define 'What's Next', ensuring you are fully aligned for growth .

For example, on Day 1, we don't just list your products. We apply proven models like the BCG Matrix. This allows us to assess the effectiveness of your current portfolio and then strategize on how to best invest your resources for future returns.

On Day 2, we get into the numbers. We move beyond basic ROI and look at critical unit economics like the ratio of Customer Lifetime Value to Acquisition Cost. This tells us not just if you're making money, but how sustainable your marketing engine truly is.

Finally, on Day 3, we look at crucial support systems. A common point of failure is the gap between Sales and Marketing. We assess this alignment and help you build a unified revenue funnel, ensuring both teams are working together seamlessly to drive growth.

3 Days 3 Ways

  • Day 1: The 'Why' - Strategic Foundation - We analyze your brand, your market position, and your core strategy.

  • Day 2: The 'How' - Execution & Performance -We measure the tactical effectiveness of your channels and your return on investment.

  • Day 3: The 'What's Next' - Ecosystem & Synthesis -We assess internal alignment, partnerships, and build your strategic playbook.

Case Studies

Case Study 1: Launching an Education Venture

Case Study 3: Disrupting a Monopoly in Travel Telecom

Case Study 2: Revitalising a Legacy Restaurant Chain

Client: A new entrant in Bangalore’s after-school learning space.

Problem: As a new brand, the client needed a robust market entry strategy to establish its presence and attract initial student enrolments in a crowded market.

Solution: Bright Ideas devised a hyper-local catchment area marketing strategy. Instead of broad advertising, we focused on community engagement, creating awareness around the brand's unique non-curriculum-based learning for Maths and English. High-impact activations were executed in targeted residential welfare associations (RWAs) and shopping malls, directly engaging parents and demonstrating the benefits for all-round development.

Outcome: The focused strategy yielded over 500 annual program registrations. The Master Franchisee's business grew from zero to four operational learning centres across Bangalore within the first year.

Case Study 2: Revitalising a Legacy Restaurant Chain

Case Study 3: Disrupting a Monopoly in Travel Telecom

Case Study 2: Revitalising a Legacy Restaurant Chain

Client: A legacy brand with 27 specialised cuisine restaurants in North India.

Problem: The client faced challenging store economics due to consistently low sales during the afternoon, impacting overall profitability.

Solution: Our on-demand CMO identified an opportunity to attract a new target audience. We introduced a "light fare" menu addition, creating a fast-food concept tailored for the afternoon crowd. This was marketed directly to the existing customer database using promotional offers, supported by compelling in-restaurant marketing elements and complimentary offerings to encourage trial.

Outcome: This strategic menu expansion led to a significant 10-15% revenue uptick across all restaurants and boosted profitability by 5% within the first quarter of implementation.

Case Study 3: Disrupting a Monopoly in Travel Telecom

Case Study 3: Disrupting a Monopoly in Travel Telecom

Case Study 3: Disrupting a Monopoly in Travel Telecom

Client: A new entrant providing SIM card solutions for international travellers.

Problem: The client was a late entrant into a market dominated by a single, established player, requiring a disruptive strategy to capture market share quickly.

Solution: Bright Ideas developed a highly targeted go-to-market plan. We focused on a niche but valuable segment: travellers heading to high-data-cost countries, offering them superior value. An aggressive retail strategy was deployed, establishing highly visible airport kiosks at international departure gates and partnering with key currency conversion hubs to intercept customers at the point of planning.

Outcome: The challenger brand successfully disrupted the monopoly, capturing an impressive 20% market share within its first year of operations.

Case Study 4: Driving Growth for a Niche News Channel

Case Study 3: Disrupting a Monopoly in Travel Telecom

Case Study 3: Disrupting a Monopoly in Travel Telecom

Client: A small player in the competitive TV news media landscape.

Problem: The channel struggled with limited resources and needed a clear, actionable strategy to drive business growth and establish relevance.

Solution: Our fractional CMO implemented a two-pronged strategy. First, we productised their reporting strength, offering aggregated stringer services for specific political and city beats to larger news outlets, creating a new B2B revenue stream. Simultaneously, we launched a dedicated, promoted YouTube channel to build a direct-to-viewer relationship and establish editorial credibility.

Outcome: The strategy was a resounding success, attracting over 100,000 YouTube subscribers in the first quarter and securing retainers from major news channels for their reporting services.
